    <b<Mr. Shakil Akhtar sahib,
It give me pleasure to know about you. From this very brief description it seems you have a long story to tell us. I think you should write more about your self, your journeys and your experiences.

In fact my children have been asking me to write . I have such a tumultous life I get lost in the jumble. Now I think with your encouragement I will try to bring some experiences and lessons learnt out. Oh yes , please read ‘Let there be Light’ to get an early glimps.

Salim, I am lucky I have got the support of some good readers. Many I do not know. I would rather they also write comments so I get more inspiration. You must be very happy to see the plant you sowed grow to this height in 4 months.

    Dear Shaki Akhtar
We have been known to each other since 1990 as colleagues, friends and humsafar to the new land. At this stage I would only mention here that your blog is a source of aspiration for me to create my blog. You are doing a commendable job for the people like me and for your family and friends. I am in the driving seat but don’t know how to drive…
    Best wishes.

    Hello Sir!
I don’t know what and how to talk to you, but I guess by opening up to you, I’ll be doing the right thing. As a child, my mom used to read stories from Urdu books and I used enjoy it. Also, I constantly bothered her with doubts, “Mummy, what does that word mean and what does this word mean?” As I grew up, the story time came to an end and homework took its place. But now, as I am on a journey of exploring the works of legends I feel a need to go through everything written in the Urdu language. I know that it’s a difficult path but I think I should take it up because there is so much to learn in this field and there is a sense of depth in it which can be understood when the meaning is clear. I have to be honest here, my Urdu is not very good. Like said by Daagh Dehlvi: ke aati hai urdu zuban aate aate; I want to begin and in whatever time I get, I want to devote into self educating myself. I am actually thankful to you for starting this blog. It’s a gold mine. Please do continue.

I like the bond you share with your best friend. Having a bestie is truely a blessing!

    Regards,
    Anjum Dakhani

After I wrote to you, I saw this section. I am writing to you afresh. At the outset, let me tell you that I have liked your humbleness and desire to make and win friends from all corners of the world and all cultures. You are basically from, if I may guess, India and may be knowing Hindi. If yes, then I would like to share my collection of shaiyri with you and try to understand more about the shairs that I do not understand fully (Ghalib, read the whole Diwan, understood 4/5 shairs, that too partly.)
I am 65 years old and now retired from my business. I have a son in the US and a daughter in Mumbai. So I divide my time travelling between India & US. Yes I also enjoy playing with my grandchildren — 1 is 3+ (son) & the other is -1 (daughter).
    More later,
    With best wishes.
    Vijay

bahot bahot shukria janab aap ki mohabbaton ka aur inayaton ka. khuda aap ko hamesha khush rakhe. Ghalib ne jab mushlik kahna band kiya aur aasan kaha tab bhi kuchh ashaar hamari bhi samajh mein nahin ate hain.
