OUR VALUES

18 Jun

This afsaana gave me a jolt and I noticed some wetness at the corners of my eyes.

I have lost the original somewhere in the house and have written this one myself showing the essentials. The original is indeed very much interesting with how these two friends always tried to put one up over the other. It looks as if Iqbal had one last one over his long time friend.

I will replace this one with the original as soon as I find it whose writer’s name also escapes my mind, as usual.

These were values long long ago. Now nothing like this , even similar to it exist. These were morals of those persons.. Time has changed and our vision has narrowed down and we don’t see any thing beyond our nose & ego.

I am impressed by that there were these and similar values once and the values have not still changed. The friendship shown has also not changed. In and among people who have some credibility left.
By and large now a days it is shamelessness and greed and selfishness that is order of the day. But look around and you will notice still people of Hameed and Iqbal’s calibre.

I am also unable to recall the writer,s name. But this is classical and reflects the values prevalent at that time. Thanks Shakeel Bhai

Masood bhai, this article was published in a Pakistani risala, Khwateen digest or such, but I have lost it somewhere in our house. I will look for it now. The actual article is about 4 times this one and contains a good build up of these two friends’ ‘nok’ jhonk’ and ‘ladayiyan’. I could not bring these and made it very simple and short.

Upto 1960 , it was very common that creations of famous and established writers were published in both the countries.
